Phalanx LE - Standing Shoulder to Shoulder with Law Enforcement Trainers
The Phalanx is a formation credited to the Spartans that we still use today for crowd control. The Spartan soldiers would stand shoulder to shoulder forming a sturdy foundation that could withstand a formidable attack. Each soldier was responsible for the safety of their comrades on either side. They provided shielding to the soldier on their left, and a spear to fight with to protect the soldier on the right. They may have used the same cliché’ that we do, ― “I’ve got your back”.
As instructors we should be willing to stand shoulder to shoulder in our common cause – To train the finest guardians possible to protect our society. By aiding those instructors around us, we build a strong foundation of knowledge that develops into wisdom for cops & cadets. They will stand strong against evil because of your guidance and example as a police instructor. Phalanx LE represents a wall that must forever stand as a model for law enforcers across our nation to follow.
